Our good friends over at the Amateur Trials Association are another long-standing group in Ontario who promote and hold Observed Trials. While SOCT is primarily "friendly/recreational competition" ATA's events are the Ontario championship rounds featuring more challenging sections under CMA sanction. ATA run a full slate of classes including vintage bikes at their events. SOCT works with the ATA to coordinate schedules and promote the interests of Observed Trials in Ontario.
The Michigan-Ontario Trials Association holds very competitive events in Michigan. While formerly having a significant presence in Ontario, specifically through the Windsor Motorcycle Club, there have been no Ontario-based events for a few years now. They're a great bunch to ride with, their events have a full slate of classes for all skill levels. Let's see if we can't put some "O" back in the MOTA by supporting their events.
The Niagara Trials Riders club in Western NY state is a favorite of several riders across the border in the Niagara region of Ontario. Well run schedule of events that keep riders coming back.
A branch of the Canadian Vintage Motorcycle Group located in Quebec. Several SOCT members have traveled to Quebec each year to enjoy their vintage trials events.
Across the border in New York State there is an active group of vintage trials riders, the New York Air Cooled Trials club. Check out their website and the unique "gate system" scoring for their events. Classes restricted to vintage air-cooled, twin-shock and mono bikes only.
The Canadian Vintage Motorcycle Group is active across the country in the preservation and use of vintage motorcycles of all types. Close to home in they host their annual National Rally in Paris Ontario.
